VAC uses its best efforts to protect
user-information off-line. All users’ information is restricted in VAC’s and
MIMS’ offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific
job (for example, patient accounts specialists or human resources department)
are granted access to personally identifiable information. All employees are
kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. At a minimum of
annually, as well as any time new policies are added, VAC and MIMS employees
are notified and/or reminded about the importance VAC places on privacy, and
what they can do to ensure that users’ information is protected. Finally, the
servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure
environment.
